Reverend Sharon Battle
Associate Minister
Reverend Battle serves as an associate minister at Greater Joy Community Church. She is also head of S.T.A.R.S., GJCC's educational and scholarship ministry.

Reverend Simmons serves as an associate minister at Greater Joy Community Church.
Our Diaconate
Our deacons are a group of spiritually mature members selected to assist in the ministry and service of the church. They serve as servant-leaders, supporting both the pastor and the congregation.
Some duties of the Diaconate are:
*Assist the pastor with spiritual care of the congregation
*Support in prayer, visitations, and encouraging members
*Help prepare and serve Communion and assist with baptisms
*Lead devotionals or prayer services if needed
*Visit the sick, elderly, or homebound members
*Provide comfort and aid to those going through hardship
*Help welcome and assimilate new members into the church family

At Greater Joy Community Church, our ministries exist to serve, strengthen, and support both our church family and the surrounding community. Each ministry plays a vital role in helping us fulfill our mission of faith, fellowship, and service.
Hospitality Ministry
Leader: Sis. Hattie Harvey
The Hospitality Ministry ensures that every guest and member feels welcomed, valued, and embraced with warmth. From greeting visitors to coordinating fellowship experiences, this team helps create an inviting and loving atmosphere where everyone feels at home.
Health & Wellness Ministry
Leader: Sis. Patricia Mills
The Health & Wellness Ministry promotes holistic well-being — mind, body, and spirit. Through health education, awareness initiatives, and wellness programming, this ministry encourages healthy living within our church family and community.
Diaconate
Leader: Deacon William Drumgold
The Diaconate provides spiritual and practical support to the Pastor and congregation. They assist during worship services, help meet member needs, and serve as spiritual pillars within the church.
Pastor’s Aid Ministry
Leader: Sis. Lynette Plummer-Henderson
The Pastor’s Aid Ministry supports the vision and leadership of the Pastor by assisting with ministry needs during services and special events. Their role is to ensure that pastoral responsibilities are supported with excellence and care.

Leader: Sis. Francine Cooke Watkins
The Finance Ministry oversees the stewardship and management of church finances. They are responsible for budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, and ensuring transparency and accountability in all financial matters.
Wonder Women
Leader: Sis. Chifawn Taylor
Wonder Women is our women’s ministry dedicated to empowering, equipping, and encouraging women of all ages. Through fellowship, spiritual development, service initiatives, and leadership growth, women are strengthened in faith and purpose.
Outreach Ministry
Leader: Sis. Mee Mee Graham
The Outreach Ministry extends the love of Christ beyond the church walls. Through community service projects, partnerships, and support initiatives, this ministry seeks to make a meaningful impact in Richmond and beyond.
IronMen Men’s Ministry
Leader(s): Bro. Aaron Graham & Bro. Erik Jones
IronMen focuses on building strong, spiritually grounded men. Through accountability, leadership development, fellowship, and honest conversation, men are challenged and encouraged to grow in faith and character.
Communication & Media Ministry
Leader: Deacon Antonio Haynes
The Communication & Media Ministry manages the church’s digital presence, announcements, branding, and media production. This ministry ensures clear, consistent communication across platforms including the website, social media, livestream, and promotional materials. Their mission is to effectively share the message, mission, and movement of Greater Joy with excellence and impact.
Music Ministry
Leader: Sis. Kayla Haynes
The Music Ministry leads the congregation in dynamic worship through song and musical excellence. Their mission is to create an atmosphere that glorifies God and prepares hearts to receive the Word.
Ushers Ministry
Leader: Sis. Eleanor Jones
The Ushers serve as ambassadors of order and hospitality during worship services. They assist members and guests, maintain a welcoming environment, and help ensure services flow smoothly.
Youth Ministry
Leader: Deacon Annie Langley
The Youth Ministry is committed to nurturing and guiding young people in their faith journey. Through biblical teaching, mentorship, and engaging activities, our youth are equipped to grow spiritually and develop strong character.
